Who we are

Pilot Car 4 Hire (“we,” “us”) operates the free US pilot car directory at pilotcar4hire.com and the Pilot Car 4 Hire mobile app. Contact us at team@pilotcar4hire.com.

This directory is free. We do not sell listings, leads, or personal information.

Information we collect

When you browse: no account is required. We may collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser or device type, and pages viewed, which our hosting and analytics tools use to keep the site running.

When you create a pilot car account: name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider, not in plain text.

When you publish a listing: business name, years of experience, phone number, listing email, services, certified states, home city and state, and a description. That listing is shown publicly so carriers can find and contact you.

When you contact us or report a listing: whatever you include in the email.

We do not collect precise device location. The map places pins from the home city and state you enter on your listing.

How we use information

• To operate the directory and show listings on the website and in the app
• To create and secure your account
• To let carriers contact you using the phone or email on your listing
• To respond to support requests and listing reports
• To keep the service secure and fix problems

We do not sell your information, rent leads, or show paid ads on the directory.

Who can see your information

Your public listing — including name, location, services, phone, and email — is visible to anyone who uses the website or app. Do not put information on a listing that you do not want the public to see.

We use trusted processors to run the service, including Supabase for accounts and database hosting. They only process data to provide those services to us.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service and its users.

Account deletion

You can delete your account in the Pilot Car 4 Hire iOS app under Account → Settings → Delete account. You can also email team@pilotcar4hire.com and ask us to delete it.

Deleting your account removes your login, profile, and public listing. It cannot be undone.

Data retention

We keep account and listing information while your account is active. After you delete your account, we remove that information from the live directory. Limited backups may exist for a short time for security and recovery.

Children

Pilot Car 4 Hire is for professional drivers and carriers. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the website or app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
